Abandoned // This 170-tonnes of rusting metal made it’s debut at Port Kembla in 2006 as a promising alternative to power generation. After just 3 years it was decommissioned and now remains the point of focus for many South Coast ocean photographers. Plans have been made to have this rusty hulk dismantled, but it still lives on. Icon or eye sore?

A flaring green ocean portal shot with a Canon 5DMKIII + 70-200mm from the water. Loving the depth of field with this lens. @dafinaustralia @sunzapper #WarrenKeelan © www.warrenkeelan.com.au

Zenith // I remember driving along the highway to get to this rock in the ocean. Low clouds and heavy fog covered nearby mountains, stretching out over the sea towards the horizon. Sunrise wasn’t far off and the sky was starting to come to life but the dense cloud kept the orange glow at bay. I finally arrived and loaded my gear, suited up and entered the ocean. It was cold, the water was dark and the ocean was alive.
